Sask Crescent West Rockary

Saskatchewan Crescent West is one of many historic neighborhoods in Saskatoon. Growing up in this city you may have made regular trips through this neighbourhood to pick up the best loot during Halloween, ogle at the large houses or enjoy the beautiful old urban canopy that stretches overhead. 

We had the pleasure of designing and building this mountain esq rock garden with the construction assistance of James from Saskatoon Paving Stone. With a simple rough sketch in hand James and his crew arranged large Rundle boulders into cascading beds.

Our team then moved onto planting focusing on using bright light green foliage plants like Gold Smoke Bush, Lime Stonecrop, Gold Lace Juniper and Variegated Autumn Moore Grass. Paired with dusty blue hues from the Sky Rocket Junipers, Weeping Blue Spruce and Blue Star Junipers. With irrigation and landscape lighting in place we topped the garden off with crushed rundle rock of varying size to add extra texture and colour contrast.
