“Genevieve and her team at Prairie River Gardens worked with us to transform the back yard of our new home from boring lawn into our dream garden.

Throughout the entire process we found them easy to work with, receptive to discussing and implementing changes, and it was obviously important to them to do their best to make the project look good. We were constantly impressed by how respectful they were of our space and belongings, of the neighbours with noise and disturbances and of how cleanly they worked. We very much appreciated their punctuality and that they communicated clearly any changes in schedule.

Designing the garden was fun and exciting and Genevieve took great care to fully understand our vision and priorities as was evidenced in the final product. She displayed a good understanding of what she was planting and it’s suitability to our yard as well as the climate. Genevieve and her team worked quickly and didn’t have many projects on the go at once.
In a project where we knew little about the technicalities, we really appreciated how responsive they were to concerns and how they were always willing to answer questions and knowledgeably calm any of our anxieties.

Overall they are a friendly, hardworking team and we enjoyed interacting with them while they were on site.

We are beyond thrilled with the final product and would happily recommend Prairie River Gardens”

Working with our clients on this project was so rewarding. They trusted the process and somehow after hours of thinking and imagining we managed to fit all of the design elements into this yard. The challenge was formidable. How to make this space, which is surrounded by a park on two sides plus a busy roadway and sidewalk on one side, feel cosy and secluded. It will take time for the trees and shrubs to establish but as they do this space will cocoon itself into the secret garden we were aiming for. Our bricklayer Dillan from Brick by Brick combined the Belgian Cobble and Mega Libre pavers from Belgard to create the whimsical winding central pathway. We added Parkland Pillar Birches to add movement and provide privacy. Phase two is around the corner and we are excited to revisit the space with our clients!
