silver Spring, Lawn Gone
Project Location: Saskatoon, SK
We have been transforming more and more front lawns to gardens in recent years! Some folks just don’t want to mow anymore and I can’t blame them. A lawn may be the most low maintenance landscape you can have but..its also boring. No shade to the lawn lovers!
Our clients had been dreaming of a pollination station in their yard and had even begun the process of transformation themselves. When they decided it would be easier to work from a design we partnered up to bring their vision to life.
The roman style courtyard wall that surrounds the garden was installed by Dillan Dierichs, who did a beauutiful job! In the coming years the perennials in this garden will really fill out the space and slowly encroach on the path and walls. I imagine the space will begin to look more like a Piet Ouldolf garden (my ultimate design idol).
Our little city and surrounding area boasts more than 60 butterfly species and more than 100 native bee species. Woulnd’t it be lovely to have a yard that attracts and feeds them?
