Ah the country…I just like the sound of that! The country is a beautiful place to live and having the opportunity to work outside of the city is a blessing we look forward to every summer. No hate for the city, it’s just a different vibe and we can appreciate both!

Our clients in Grasswood Estates contacted us with a large scale remediation/re-installation project. Their backyard terrace garden had been in place for a few years but was struggling to take off. The space needed a new design and a refurbishment. Sadly the previous landscaper who had installed the garden beds had filled them with a mixture of clay and gravel. I’m not kidding, the client had to dig out yards and yards of base gravel from these beds to be able to refill them.

We brought in our favourite compost/topsoil blend from Deptucks Landscaping to revitalize the beds and provide a healthy environment for the new plants to grow in. With our client's collaboration we decided on a ”mountain meadow” theme with plenty of wild flowers, grasses and boulders. Structural shrubs like Dwarf Mugo Pine, Blue Chip Juniper and Diablo Ninebark anchor the softer plantings and create a grounded back bone in the beds.
